I am a bit afraid by the the recent series of Hollywood movies featuring characters using marijuana. For example Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, The Wackness or the upcoming Pineapple Express: it is like Hollywood is endorsing the promotion of illegal drugs.
Even if characters are mostly humorously portrayed, I believe they could shape a new trend in our society and cause a surge in drug consumption...
I hope Hollywood won't go further on this road, or we will need the intervention of legislators.

Whoever said they are worried about marijuana being portrayed wrongfully in recent movies is so naive. Do u think in movies when ppl murder each other that the director, or 'hollywood' as u say, is trying to encourage that. Thats all im saying, your biased attitude doesnt deserve much else.
The promotion of drugs is harmful to our society: Hollywood is like saying that drugs are so much fun that it can not dangerous... Even stars are publicly endorsing regular consumption... But actually drugs are dangerous: not only because, taking them is putting one's health at risk but also because it can destroy the very basis of a society!
China plagued with opium in the 19th century is a stark example of the danger of drugs...
So yes, I'm definitely worried.
As for judging my point of view as biased I suppose you are an addict... Hope you'll open your eyes before it's too late for you...
haha dude this is marijuana (its been used without consequences for 5000 years) not opium which is an opiate and very addictive and dangerous... maybe instead of being a posterchild for dare you should do a bit of research before you condemn marijuana. it really grinds my gears how the people most against marijuana are the ones who know nothing about it
